80g of cooked sushi rice
1 sheet of nori
35g of your favourite filling (think salmon, avocado, cucumber)
Choose the filling of your choice e. g. salmon, avocado, carrots, etc... There is traditionally only one ingredient in a maki.
Cut the seaweed in two equal halves and place one half on the bamboo mat.
Take the cooked sushi rice and gently spread it over the nori sheet with lightly oiled hands (to prevent the rice from sticking to your hands).
Make the roll.
Tip: if you have put maki in the fridge, take them out 15 min before eating; this will ensure they are fresh but tender!
